Dewan (USA)
Satisfied Rating (10/10)

I was looking for a light netbook with a long battery life, and not too bulky.
Netbook Sony are lightweight and not bulky. Samsung Netbook were also in the same category.

Having both, I discovered that —
Samsung N110 met all my expectations.

Pro
The keyboard is just right, and my typing speed is as fast as in its actual size on the laptop. The battery seems to last for approximately 9 hours. I played poker online non-stop for almost 6 hours and still showed a good + 3 hours of battery life.
The screen size is right. The gloss factor, as discussed earlier here, but I can live with that.

Cons
The only drawback I see is that sometimes the Samsung screen brightness is automatically reduced to the lowest in the middle of my typing. And no, not because of my pressing the FN key and arrow key (a useful feature to quickly adjust) the brightness.

SONY TT vs Samsung N110

I loved the netbook Sony too. I have always been much more to the Sony store where I bought it, could be a $ 799 Sony Netbook for $ 600. Sony is half the weight of the Samsung, but has a smaller screen.

The only problem was that the Sony netbook, the wrist on the table prepared. I tried typing for some time, and while it does not hurt to be a problem initially started after about 10 minutes my hands.

SO, the basic rules of SAMSUNG N110, and I highly recommend.

I have had this netbook for 2 weeks and after moderate use the only complaint is the keyboard. I find that at least 1 or 2 keys tend to stick down after being pressed, and they click back up after a second. It’s very unusual and I was not able to find a solution on the Toshiba technical support website.

Otherwise, the display is good, the size is great, and the battery life is as described. It’s a great way to browse the web and check email on the road or at play.

I got my N100 a few days ago to add the portability of computing that my heavy Sony Vaio simply do not have. This kid is so portable and has all the power you need, besides the battery allows much more than what I experienced with the Sony portable elderly. I love my Sony, but I have a special place in my heart for my Samsung N100 hours. I bought the upgrade of memory and a case of Nice with memory foam specifically for the N110. The case has two handles and allows for easy transport of the N110 and some accessories. Although I have large hands I find the keyboard easy to adapt. I use a Microsoft wireless mouse with the computer, because I am not fond of a touch pad. I bought the Samsung disk external correspondence and find useful and sufficient for the job. Everything they give me very high for the Samsung N110 for excellence in design and portability. Amazon has a super job of providing products purchased separately. Three Cheers for Samsung and Amazon for a winning combination.

I bought this off QVC and the first was not available. I was going to get the Pink HP netbook fancy design. However, Toshiba is now available for 5 easy pays.

What a disappointment. I could not get the unit is connected to my Fios Internet for over 10 seconds. He also brought my Toshiba laptop that I had down. I spent so much time on the phone with the boy Verizon.

MS Internet dial-up stupid on screen has always tried to take over and I lost my signal on several occasions.

The keyboard is awful. Will not go calling, and is very fragile. I like to use a keyboard instead of mouse too.

The other thing I really hated was the keynote very crappy. I had my fan on it and not raise higher and could not hear You've got mail from AOL to the speaker. 1 day is enough for me, this Toshiba. My notebook was a soldier. My Notebook Sony VAIO sucked though. I think I just got a lemon.

The only thing different is the color pink was good was that it seemed that my child Toshiba Bigger. (LOL)

Perhaps it will be resolved in the future.

The Samsung N110 is my first netbook. I use a Dell laptop at work and a Mac laptop at home. I can not believe how well this little computer. I started, I thought I was alone at home for Internet and e-mail. Now suppose so small and light, at work and let the Dell in the docking station. I installed Office 2007 on it and now use Outlook for my e-mail. I used this week for a PowerPoint presentation on the work of a client and it was really, of how the external video looked good when a video projector connected satisfied. Around July because of the more than twice the weight and three times larger? This little man is the real thing. Do not even have the adapter to the business meeting, as I had a full charge, and it took only two hours. This is my new laptop for work on the road. Our IT people are thinking the same thing and I've seen people give a desktop and netbook and not a laptop. There will be less and give us a smaller unit for travel.

This little dynamo has far exceeded my expectations! I was warned by the manner in which those who "know" does not expect a netbook to replace a "real" computer. My Little Toshiba laptop does everything my big can do - and I can keep my purse! The only thing wrong (and I think that's a plus) is that its incredibly low. But when using headphones is loud and clear as a bell. The advantage is that I can turn the machine anywhere, without worrying about the noise of the computer could provide. Battery life I was shocked. He said 9 hours, but believes that this kind of exaggeration? Well, I tried, and are now, I am a true believer! I believe absolutely that the little machine in my best buy of the year!

This laptop is great. It’s so small it can fit in my purse! The keyboard is almost full (92%). My boyfriend has really big hands, so it’s a bit difficult for him to use, but I have no problems at all. The battery life is amazing. It really DOES last the 6 1/2 hours that it claims.

My only complaint with this laptop is it needs more RAM! If I demand too much of it, it gets really sluggish. I’ll probably open it up at some point and upgrade.

This seems like it would be an excellent laptop for students. It’s cheap, durable, small, and easy to use.

I had high hopes for this, after watching the site Acer Aspire multiple. I wanted something small for me to take on holiday with the sole purpose of keeping in touch and access to the Internet and control of tourist attractions, restaurants, attractions, etc.. So the first week I had, I set my browser preferences, e-mail, etc. - Packed in a suitcase and was very happy with my choice. The hotel, in a few hours I had the blue screen of death by lightning, with a full page of text and shutdown. I have a cooling period, but would not be re - - - I just had a black screen. The next day, started it up, looked fine, but then again, the old BSOD and nothing! Repeat this scenario a couple of times. After the holidays I Acer on up to 6 weeks later, I went on another vacation. Check out the Acer at home, and everything seemed fine. In the hotel - - - same story as last time! (I believe that my Acer is allergic to hotels!) <br

I liked everything about this computer, with the exception of really annoying too light in the middle bottom of the monitor. E 'distracting and bright. The only way to tone down and dark throughout, and this does not solve the problem.

But the real deal breaker for me was the touch pad. It 'still stagnant, or admit I was touched. I have a computer in Best Buy. I had to make sure that the touch pad Geek Squad does not work (even stop working completely several times and I had no less than 24 hours, it had to do FN/F9 key to it working again). Of course, it worked perfectly for Geek Squad and they wanted to charge me 15% restocking fee. So I started using a computer to see if the parking lot for me. Yes, several times, while the Geek Squad guy look. He said: "This is good enough for me. You get your money back."

One of the problems with the touch pad, is that there is a very small space where you can scroll. Go outside of this area and nothing happens. Bad design.

I bought an area of Eee PC. It's great.

#1 The Purchase: The transaction ocurred in matter of minutes. The purchase cleared out and it was getting ready to be shipped in no longer than 1 hour.

#2 The Shipping: I payed next day and the item arrived with Fedex next day on time no delays, no problems, perfect.

#3 The Toshiba:

Windows 7 Starter:

The first two days I was a little doubtful about the Windows 7 Starter. That was my main concearn about this Toshiba.

I knew I wanted the Netbook since I watch many reviews on youtube and some sites and the Toshiba reated 4 to 5 stars in all.

You know how it is, you get your Netbook, and you just want to start using it asap, you don’t want to re install any OS or nothing like that. I was looking other brands (before the purchase) that came with Win XP and I was thinking about installing XP instead of Win 7 for compatibility reasons and the posibility to use all available software instead of limiting myself into what Win 7 could give me.

3 weeks later Im keeping the Win 7.

I works very good. It looks good, never crashes, its fast and it gets the job done.

So don’t worry about the operative system the Toshiba comes with. Keep it and use it. You will find it friendly and simple.

Forget about changing the wallpaper or customizing the look of windows, what you get with Win 7, its what you keep. But its fine, you can add some gadgets on the desktop like a clock or calendar or a slideshow and after you install a couple of things, the desktop will have some icons on it that added to the gadgets will take the wallpaper issue out of your head since you will realize its useless.

Video and power:

I installed everything on it: Games, video editing software, sound editing software, image editing software, 3D software, Office, Movies in HD, all sorts of applications and many more things (gps, mobile internet…).

Regarding games, I am playing Max Payne 2 and it flies. Morrowind 3, Moto GP 3, Halo, Rainbox Six 3 (they all run good in max resolutions and full graphics believe it or not).

So regarding the Intel videocard, IT ROCKS. It won’t run Crysis or Oblivion 4 or Resident Evil 5 or GTA4 but all games from say…2006 and below, it will run them pretty good.

Some games won’t run of course since its not Win XP but most of them (the ones that have a good code on them) will.

The screen resolution and colours are excellent. Trust me, this Toshiba screen looks better than most Laptops I’ve seen. The image is crisp and clear and bright enough to make the colours look like a dream.

The blues and greens in Avatar look amazing (in HD).

Sound:

The sound in the Toshiba comes out in one single speaker that is located on the bottom of the Netbook. This sucks of course. However lets be real, you will not be using this thing as the only sound source on a rave party.

I added some nice headphones and the sound is just simply superb. Add some nice speakers at home to have your mp3’s sound in high volume and you will find out that after taking the single speaker out of the ecuation, any other form of headphones or speakers will satisfy your every need.

The 3-d sound simulations that Win 7 offers really works and at least I am happy about it.

Hardware in general:

The CPU and RAM are fine just like they come. If you want, and specially if you are one of those people that like things to happen really fast, you can add 1GB of extra RAM and you are set.

I am not kidding, this thing is pretty fast, and with one more gig of RAM is superman.

I never added the extra RAM, since I never needed to. But believe in the power of this Toshiba since it can take you pretty far away.

Compared to other Laptops I’ve seen, this little baby take cares of the same tasks and needs you might have faster than its big sisters.

Keyboard and touchpad:

Keyboard is as big as the keyboard of any regular Laptop or Desktop. SAME SIZE. Meaning its not only simple to type on it but it will fit most hands and fingers in a comfortable way for long writting periods of time.

The touchpad has the same aspect ratio of the screen, making it very simple to move arround and browse. Really neat and comfy.

General Look:

The Netbook looks really cool. The keys design, the screen, the piano finish on the cover, the black colour all arround it, the leds, the TOSHIBA brand printed on the cover also, and all arround it in general, it looks like a James Bond thing or maybe more like a nice High Tech toy that can be easly featured in a movie.

Nice, slick and catchy. Eye candy. People looks at it and they don’t ask me what kind of system it is, the first thing that say is “Hey that’s a nice Net!, how much did you payed for it?”

Battery:

And for the big finale, the battery. The star of this little baby of mine. In full charge it can back you up for NINE hours. Yes 9!. Its amnazing, you charge it in like 2 hours and it runs for 9 straight in full usage. In sleep mode it can run much much more of course.

Travels, camping, outdoors, a long night of work or movie watching, several trips to college: forget recharge.

9 hours is the hole idea of a portable! Or isnt it? There is no point in having a Netbook that will endure 4 hours and drop dead begging for a re charge.

Imagine 9 hours of independent usage and you will realize you can get this Toshiba everywhere.

Price, performance, design, it all adjusts to this Netbook to be an accesible product that can compete with the big Laptops at the same level and outrun most of them.

Buy it.
