MSI U135-205US 10-Inch Black Netbook - 7.5 Hour Battery Life Review

I purchased a U120 for myself but my wife took it over. I purchased a U135 as a replacement. My only disappointment was the reflective screen. I upgraded Windows 7 to the Pro level without problem. Battery life is good!. The only issue is that my Yahoo email server complains that it needs 1024 x 768 resolution for optimum performance, but I see no problems with this.

For stability, ease of use and a good upgrade path, Linux can’t be beat. My first criterion for a netbook was that it run a version of the Linux operating system. The Emtec Gdium fit the bill, so I took a closer look. Reviews gave it high marks for its usb stick based storage and good fit and finish. They panned it for sluggish performance and poor battery life. Since I was looking for a machine primarily to pick up email while traveling, I was not too concerned about the performance issues - when I am on vacation, I try not to do too much serious number crunching that would strain a processor. The battery life was more of a concern, but when I thought about it, I realized that I would usually be close to an AC outlet. The price was right, so I placed my order.

I keep the wind plugged in (the battery does suck) on my reading table and use it to casually surf the internet, check email and occasionally do a bit of work. I took the advice of another review and removed ms office suite and use open office for my word processor, but rarely have need for it anyway. For my purposes it’s perfect. The keyboard is easy to type on, the screen size is small but fine. Don’t expect anything out of the speakers; just use ear buds. I would not only recommended this product to a friend but wouldn’t hesitate for a moment to buy another one tomorrow for myself if mine was lost or broken.

I bought this at Best Buy. I travel between NYC & CT all the time. I stop in Starbucks get my clients e/mails out etc; I also dropped the thing ! I had it plugged in one time and grabbed it off my kitchen counter it flew 6 feet ( I am always in a hurry ) I dropped it quite a few times. It does not have a dent on it ! I up-graded to a bigger battery it last forever. I love this sturdy notebook ! One of my clients had the Air Mac and went to this. Her Mac fell a-part flat !( she lo-ooves it ) Nothing against Mac of course EVERYONE has one in the city if you do not like the small e/mailing from the blackberry and want a portable you can use anywhere this is it just get a broadband card and you are portable.
